Description

WWI, Imperial German Model 1915 Bavarian Infantry Pickelhaube (Spiked Helmet) 4, Infanterie-Regiment “Konig Wilhelm von Wurttemberg”. Authentic Model 1915 Bavarian other ranks’ Pickelhaube, issued to enlisted men of the Royal Bavarian Army during World War I. The helmet body is constructed of black lacquered leather with grey-painted steel fittings, characteristic of the simplified wartime issue introduced in 1915. The front plate displays the large Bavarian coat of arms, featuring two rampant lions supporting the crowned shield of Bavaria, with the motto “In Treue Fest” (“Firm in Loyalty”) on the banner below - the traditional emblem of the Bavarian Kingdom. The spike is the removable wartime pattern, secured by four domed studs. Both original state and national cockades are present on the sides, mounted behind the original leather chinstrap with steel fittings. The interior retains the original brown leather liner, showing typical service wear. The inner rear visor is neatly unit-stamped “4. J.R.”, indicating issue to the 4th Bavarian Infantry Regiment (4. Infanterie-Regiment “Konig Wilhelm von Wurttemberg”). Condition: Good. An excellent, untouched example of a wartime Bavarian Pickelhaube. Height (including spike): approx. 21 cm.
