Extremely Rare Italian Two Superposed Barrels Percussion Pistol, Calabresi, Milan, 19th Century. An exceptional double-barrel percussion pistol, crafted in Milan during the 19th century. This masterpiece of Italian gunsmithing features a superposed barrel configuration: the upper barrel is rifled for precision shooting, while the lower barrel flares outward like a miniature blunderbuss or tromblon, suggesting a design tailored for versatility at both close and mid-range combat. The barrels are richly ornamented with fine gold-inlaid calligraphy, including inscriptions "Calabresi" and "A Milano", testing to the origin and prestigious maker. The finely engraved side plates and hammers display floral and scroll motifs, typical of high-end Italian firearms of the period. On the plates, there is an inscription inlaid with gold “Calabresi” and “A Milano”. The checkered walnut grip. At the end of the handle is a container with a lid for ammunition.
