Description
Very Rare Ceremonial General's Sabre, model 1943, Soviet Union, mid of 1940s. Steel blade, curved, single-edged, chrome-plated, with one wide and two narrow fullers. The hilt consists of a handle and a guard. The handle is made of wood tinted black, with grooves. At the base of the handle there is a steel figured bushing. On the pommel of the handle there is an overlay image of a five-pointed star and an engraved image of a wreath with a ribbon and diverging rays. In the upper part of the hilt there is a steel figured twist, decorated with an engraved inscription "USSR" in laurel wreaths. The guard with one protective D-shaped bow, decorated with an engraved image of a five-pointed star and laurel branches. All metal parts of the hilt are chrome-plated. The scabbard is steel, with two clips with movable rings for the sword belt and suspension straps. A wonderful artifact from the USSR in excellent condition. Length 98 cm.
