Description

The Bayern Pickelhaube M1886 Wappen (front plate) with leaves intertwined in the legs of the lions. The gilt brass Wappen displays the Bavarian crowned coat of arms, supported by two rampant lions whose tails and hind legs are intertwined with oak leaves, a characteristic feature unique to this model. The central shield bears the distinctive blue-and-white lozenges of Bavaria, surmounted by the royal crown. This particular example is for the Reserve and Landwehr, distinguished by the added Iron Cross device at the center of the shield. The traditional Bavarian motto “In Treue Fest” (“Steadfast in Loyalty”) remains on the lower scroll. Good condition. Dimensions: Approximately 8 x 12 cm.
