Revolutionary War Era, 1763-66 model French flintlock pistol, Second half of the 18th Century. "Manufacture de St.Etienne" signed lock. Smoothbore, round, 17.7 mm cal. barrel, "M1763" model designation on the barrel tan. Test marks on the barrel. Brass mounts, iron ramrod lost. Many French firearms such as these were imported for use by the American revolutionaries for their struggle against the English crown. Good condition. Length 41 cm.
