Description

Rare WWI Prussian Ersatz Felt Pickelhaube, Model 1915. A rare and authentic Model 1915 Prussian Ersatz Pickelhaube, wartime economy version manufactured from pressed brown felt to replace the traditional leather helmets during World War I. The helmet features a high-quality hard felt shell, fitted with all-original field-gray metal fittings, including the removable ventilated spike. The large Prussian eagle front plate (wappen) in brass bears the crowned cipher “FR” (Friedrich Rex) and the motto “Mit Gott fur Konig und Vaterland” (“With God for King and Fatherland”). Retains the original leather chinstrap, mounted on Model 1915 gray metal side posts, complete with both national (black-white-red) and Prussian (black-white) cockades. The interior shows the original black leather liner. Condition: Very good but there is some minor damage, look at the photo. Height: approx. 22 cm (to spike).
