Description

Prussian Guard Model 1895 Pickelhaube Front Plate (Wappen), 1895–1914. A striking Model 1895 Prussian Guard front plate (Wappen), crafted in fire-gilded brass with a nickel-silver Guard star centerpiece. This large and finely detailed plate depicts the Prussian eagle with outstretched wings, surmounted by the royal crown and bearing the motto “Mit Gott fur Konig und Vaterland” (“With God for King and Fatherland”) across the banners. At the eagle’s chest lies the radiant Guard Star of the Order of the Black Eagle, with the inscription “Suum Cuique” (“To Each His Own”), surrounding the central medallion. The reverse retains its original mounting loops and hardware. The Guard regiments of the Prussian Army represented the most prestigious units of the Imperial German military, stationed in Berlin and serving directly under Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Guard eagle with the “Suum Cuique” star symbolized elite status, worn by members of these select formations. Dimensions: approx. 17 cm wide x 11 cm high. Condition: Excellent preserved patina with minor traces of age and wear.
