Description
Prussian Cuirassier Officer's Helmet (Kurassierhelm), circa 1900. An elegant and finely crafted officer’s helmet of the Prussian Cuirassier Regiments, executed in polished nickel-silver with brass mounts. The helmet features the tall, graceful spike with ventilated base, affixed by four bolts. The impressive front plate (Wappen) bears the gilt Prussian eagle clutching sword and scepter, with the royal cipher “FR” for Friedrich Rex and the motto “Mit Gott fur Konig und Vaterland” (“With God for King and Fatherland”). The helmet retains its brass chinscales, mounted on beautifully detailed officer-style rosettes with clover-leaf design. The interior shows a traditional green fabric lining with brown leather sweatband, typical for privately purchased officer models. Condition: Good, there are signs of repair and small dents. See photo. Height: approx. 30 cm (to spike).
