Description

Judaica old Hebrew Book "Sefer Shemot" (Book of Exodus), Printed in Jerusalem, Early 20th Century. A rare early 20th-century Hebrew religious volume titled "Sefer Shemot" (Book of Exodus), printed in Jerusalem, Palestine. The book contains the complete text of Exodus with Targum Onkelos, Rashi's commentary, additional rabbinic commentaries, and a section of Shabbat prayers (Seder Tefillot LeYom HaShabbat), including Haftarot, Zemirot, and other liturgical texts. This edition exemplifies traditional Jewish printing from the Land of Israel prior to the establishment of the State. The layout features the Torah portion in large type, with classic commentaries surrounding the text, a format common in Eastern European and Ottoman-era publications. The volume is printed by Levin-Epstein Press, one of the prominent Hebrew printing houses of Jerusalem during that period. Binding: Marbled paper over boards with cloth spine (worn, period original). Overall fair condition for its age; some pages show signs of old repairs, edge wear, and light staining; text is mostly legible and complete. This book is both a spiritual artifact and a historical witness to Hebrew printing in the Holy Land before 1948. A desirable piece for collectors of Judaica, Torah commentaries, and early 20th-century Hebrew books. Minor damage, see photos. Size 21x15 cm.
