Description
Imperial German Model 1895 Prussian Reservist Pickelhaube Helmet. An authentic Model 1895 Prussian Reservist spiked helmet (Pickelhaube) for enlisted men, complete with brass fittings and fine details characteristic of Imperial craftsmanship. The black lacquered leather body retains its original brass spike, trim, and front plate (Wappen) featuring the large Prussian eagle clutching scepter and orb, with the Iron Cross reserve emblem at its chest, inscribed “Mit Gott für König und Vaterland – 1813” (“With God for King and Fatherland – 1813”). This identifies it as a reservist issue, proudly worn by soldiers who had completed active duty but remained ready for mobilization. Both national and state cockades are present—Prussian black-and-white on the right and national red-white-black on the left—mounted behind the original black leather chinstrap with brass fittings. The interior retains its complete leather liner, showing natural age patina consistent with service use. Condition: Good. Dimensions: Height with spike approx. 21 cm.
