Description

German WWI Saxon Regiment Enlisted Man's Pickelhaube Helmet. A fine example of a World War I era Saxon enlisted man’s Pickelhaube, the distinctive spiked helmet worn by the Imperial German Army. Constructed from black lacquered leather, this helmet retains its brass spike and trim, showing expected age patina and surface cracking consistent with age. The front features the Saxon coat of arms mounted on a sunburst star. The side cockades remain present—national colors on the right (red, white, and black) and green-white Saxon cockade on the left, secured by the original leather chinstrap with brass fittings. The interior retains its original brown leather liner, retaining its historical authenticity. Overall, the helmet presents beautifully with an honest, untouched patina, an excellent example for collectors of Imperial German militaria. Condition: Good for age. Height (including spike): approx. 22 cm.
