German Fireman's Pickelhaube Helmet, First Third of the 20th Century. A fine original German Fireman’s Pickelhaube helmet, dating from the early 20th century. The body made of black lacquered leather with brass fittings, featuring the characteristic metal comb and front plate bearing the starburst badge with red enamel center and raised emblem. Brass trim to the visors and comb, both front and rear. The sides fitted with finely detailed brass lion-head bosses holding the chinstrap rings, and the original brass-scaled leather chinstrap still present. Retains its original leather liner. Condition: Good overall condition for age, with honest wear to leather and patina to brass mounts. Dimensions: Height approx. 18 cm.
