Fine quality cup-hilted Rapier, Italy, 17th century. Straight, double-edged blade, ribbed in the centerline, edges slightly convergent towards the tip, three narrow fullers on each side at the base of the blade. Elegant cup-shaped sword-shell finely pierced, decorated with very high quality floral decoration. The straight, extended quillons with spirally fluted decoration. Grip covered with thin, iron wire binding. The pommel is decorated with high-quality relief engraving. Excellent condition. length 114 cm.
