Description

A flintlock pistol lighter, France, 18th century. The lighter is made of steel and features a mount on the bottom for attaching to a stick (for example, for lighting candles on candelabras) and a trigger. Pulling the trigger back and squeezing the hammer creates a spark that ignites straw or other flammable material placed inside the lighter through a hinged door on the left. The maker's name, "DESCO LEYE," is inscribed in engraved on the door. Good condition. Length 16 cm, height 10 cm.
