Description

Saber in scabbard "Karabela", silver and niello, Poland 19th century. Steel blade of slight curvature with one wide fuller on each side. Image of the Monogram of the Emperor of the Russian Empire Alexander III and the coat of arms, a double-headed eagle, on two sides of the blade. The image of the eagle and the monogram were made in a later period. The handle is made of buffalo horn in the form of a stylized eagle head. The silver guard is decorated with engraving and niello. The wooden sheath is covered with leather. The silver fittings of the scabbard are decorated with engraving, chasing and niello. Collectible Polish saber in good condition. Length 91 cm.
