Description

Rare WW1 war journalist Kodak No. 2A Folding Pocket Brownie Camera, Model A, 1910, with Original Canvas Case. Offered here is a rare and highly collectible Kodak No. 2A Folding Pocket Brownie, Model A, manufactured around 1910 by the Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, NY. This camera is a significant piece of photographic history, designed to make photography accessible to the masses in the early 20th century. The camera features the original Bausch & Lomb Automatic shutter and folding bellows, along with the distinctive “Folding Pocket” design that allowed for convenient travel and storage. This example includes the original Kodak-branded canvas and leather case, which shows signs of period use but remains intact and structurally sound. The case interior retains original fittings and button fastenings. The lens plate is marked with Kodak and B&L logos, and the front panel is stamped: “No. 2A Folding Pocket Brownie.” The shutter settings (1–4) and aperture control are still clearly visible. The bellows appear well preserved with only minor signs of wear, while the camera body shows expected surface patina consistent with age. A truly desirable collectible for photography enthusiasts, early technology collectors, or design historians. Size 22x10x5 cm.
