Rare Uhlan officer's helmet in the "confederate" form, Life Guards Uhlan Regiment, Russian Empire, 19th century. Leather crown and square pommel on a thin "neck". At the front, a visor made of thick leather is sewn on at a downward angle, its edge reinforced with a brass protective trim. A chinstrap is attached to both sides of the shako, composed of a series of shaped copper scales. The convex coat of arms of the Russian Empire is fixed to the front. Above the eagle is a metal ribbon with the insignia "For Telish on October 12, 1877". This battle took place during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and is associated with the siege of Plevna and the capture of the fortifications of Telish and Gorny Dubnyak. The upper part is blue and decorated with yellow cords and gilded uniform buttons. At the very top of the shako is a cockade and a horsehair plume.
