Rare Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, USSR. A fine original Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class (Орден Отечественной войны I степени), established in 1942 during World War II by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Made of silver and gilt, with red enamel, featuring the iconic five-pointed star over crossed sword and rifle. The central medallion depicts the hammer and sickle in gold with white enamel border inscribed "Отечественная война" (“Patriotic War”). The reverse bears the "Monetny Dvor" mint mark and a serial number 204332, indicating an early wartime issue from 1944–1945 production. The screwback plate and retaining nut are present and original to the order. This is a historically significant Soviet decoration awarded for personal bravery and heroism in the Great Patriotic War, one of the most recognizable symbols of WWII-era valor. Early examples such as this are highly sought after by collectors. Dimensions: approx. 45 mm in diameter. Condition: Excellent, with minor age-related wear and original patina.
