Rare Old Russian cup (korec, kovsh), sterling silver, Cartier, France, early 20th century. Mark Cartier and the numbers 871 on the bottom of the vessel. Old Russian cup, intended for drinking or serving drinks at the table. The korec, kovsh came into use in the 15th century. Cartier, is a French luxury-goods conglomerate that designs, manufactures, distributes, and sells jewelry, watches, leather goods, sunglasses and eyeglasses. Founded by Louis-François Cartier (1819–1904) in Paris in 1847, the company remained under family control until 1964. A beautiful item made by a famous French brand, a rare artifact related to the history of the Russian Empire. Maximum size 13 cm. Weight - 93 grams.
