Rare German Pneumatic, Air Gun by Ferdinand Eckard, Bamberg, 18th Century. A rare and finely preserved air rifle crafted by renowned Bamberg gunsmith Ferdinand Eckard (1731–1799). This early example features a forged iron butt that serves as the air reservoir. The lock is clearly signed “Ferdinand Eckard in Bamberg”. The gun remains in excellent untouched condition, preserved “in its own juice” — without modern cleaning or restoration, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a historically intact piece. The surface bears a beautiful untouched patina consistent with age. A highly desirable and museum-worthy piece for serious collectors of antique firearms and pneumatic weaponry.
