Description

Rare Early Soviet Order of the Red Banner, Serial Number 5305. This historically significant military decoration is the Order of the Red Banner of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR), the inaugural revolutionary award established on September 16, 1918, to recognize exceptional valor in combat. Expertly crafted from solid silver, the badge features a central white enamel medallion displaying a hammer and sickle, encircled by a laurel wreath and crowned by a flowing banner in vibrant translucent red enamel inscribed with the Bolshevik motto "Proletarians of all countries, unite!" in Cyrillic script. The base is detailed with a red enamel ribbon bearing the RSFSR initials, layered over a symbolic arrangement of a hammer and plow. The reverse showcases the authentic screw-back attachment and a hand-engraved serial number 5305, a designation that is precisely repeated on the accompanying silver mounting plate, indicating its early production sequence within the first years of the Soviet state. Measuring approximately 40 mm in width and 45 mm in height. The item is in good condition.
