An impressive early 18th-century Dutch treatise on the power and imperial authority of Ancient Rome, richly illustrated with 121 full-page engravings showcasing Roman coinage. 585 pp. This edition remains one of the most visually compelling studies of its kind from the period. Very good interior with crisp pages. Binding soiled and rubbed, typical of vellum of the period. Minor wear to edges, light scattered spotting. Ownership signature on the front endpaper. A well-preserved example of a scarce and important numismatic reference. Size 25x22x6 cm.
