An original vintage World War II press photograph issued by the Photo-Lique USIS, Paris (United States Information Service), depicting the surrender of the German submarine U-249 to British forces at Weymouth, Dorset, England, on May 7, 1945 — the first German U-boat to be formally surrendered to the Allies following the capitulation of Nazi Germany.
