Original WWII German, Kriegsmarine Wireless Operator's Mate (Oberfernschreibmaat) Sleeve Badge. A Kriegsmarine trade badge for a Wireless Operator’s Mate, worn on the lower left sleeve of the dark-blue uniform tunic. Depicting a fouled anchor overlaid with crossed lightning bolts, symbolizing naval communications and telegraph service. Below, a single chevron indicates the rank of Obermaat (Petty Officer, 2nd Class). Reverse retains its original metal backing plate, stamped “C.S. & S. 35”, with attachment prongs intact. This is a wartime-produced badge, introduced circa 1940, denoting personnel qualified in teletype and signal transmission duties aboard Kriegsmarine vessels and coastal stations. The C.S. & S. mark refers to the firm Carl Schickle & Söhne, Pforzheim, a known maker of naval insignia and medals. Good condition. Height approx. 7.5 cm.
