Miguel de Cervantes – "Der Zikorn-Mensch" (The Man of Memory), Yiddish Edition, Tel Aviv, 1940 – With Dedication. A rare Hebrew and Yiddish edition of a story by Miguel de Cervantes, printed by the Gazith publishing house in Tel Aviv in 1940, under the British Mandate of Palestine. This volume is titled in Hebrew and Yiddish and contains an illustrated adaptation of one of Cervantes’ Novelas ejemplares ("Exemplary Novels") translated by Ephraim Shmueli. The book features a printed portrait of Cervantes and an original handwritten dedication in French: "by Edmond Beck for my friend Simon's birthday. 3.7.41, Tel-Aviv" — highlighting its historical and personal significance. Bound in original boards with cloth spine; overall good condition with minor signs of age, including light foxing and wear. A scarce and meaningful piece of Jewish literary history and a testament to the cultural exchange and intellectual engagement of the early Yishuv period in Palestine. Dimensions: approx. 17×13 cm
