Magnificent, Large, Flintlock Blunderbuss (Tromblon), Probably Italy for Ottoman market, 18th Century. An exceptional and richly decorated flintlock blunderbuss (tromblon), distinguished by its large, flared muzzle and superb oriental ornamentation. The wooden stock is lavishly inlaid with engraved silver floral and geometric motifs, including crescent moons, stars, and arabesques - classic symbols of Ottoman artistry. The flintlock was made in the North of Italy, probably in Brescia. The lockplate and mounts are finely chiseled and engraved. The massive barrel terminates in a broad trumpet-shaped muzzle. The buttplate and side panels are made of silver and feature inlays with celestial motifs. Condition: excellent, minor age wear consistent with period. Caliber approx. 41 mm, overall length approx. 95 cm.
