Lieutenant Serimis in Paillac, Oil on fiberboard, 1940-50s, signed by the artist. A beautiful painting kept in the family of Lieutenant Serimis, depicting a lieutenant with the flag of France going to storm the fortifications of the German soldiers. At the back of the painting is a document from the headquarters of the army describing this mission. The document is dated 10/19/1944. "Mission Task: Lieutenant Serimis, commander of the 2nd unit of the Vendome grouping had to join the units under the command of Vilanova in the Paillac region. They successfully completed the mission and defeated the enemy. Uzes, 10/19/1944" Beautiful an artifact telling about the role of French soldiers in the liberation of France. Good condition. The size of the painting without frame is 37x54.
