Indian Matchlock Gun, Torador, gold kofgari, probably Jaipur, Rajsthan, 18th century. Barrel made of patterned Damascus steel, swollen towards muzzle and breech, richly decorated with gold floral ornaments made using the kofgari technique. Iron lock sides are decorated with gold geometric ornaments made using the kofgari technique. Wooden stock with bone inlaid behind the breech, steel ramrod decorated with gold inlay. a pair of iron sling swivels. Perforated gun trigger. Four brass gilded and decorated rings fix the barrel to the stock. A fine example of a matchlock gun from North India. Length 171 cm.
