This elegant red-enamelled cross was awarded to officers for long and faithful military service, typically marking twenty campaigns. The front displays the central medallion with the cipher of the monogram name of St. Vladimir, under the Grand Ducal Crown, surrounded by deep red translucent enamel arms inscribed “20 KAM.” The reverse bears the inscription “SEPTEMBER 22, 1789” commemorating the date of the celebrated victory at the Battle of Rymnik, led by Suvorov during the Russo-Turkish War.
