Description
Imperial German Model 1889 Dragoon Officer’s Sword, Jager Regiment zu Pferde No. 10. This Imperial German Model 1889 Dragoon Officer’s sword represents an example of Prussian military sidearms from the First World War era, specifically manufactured for the Jäger Regiment zu Pferde No. 10. The straight steel blade is meticulously decorated with acid-etched panels featuring traditional foliate scrollwork and military panoplies. Также на клинке изображена надпись готическим шрифтом "Jager Regiment zu Pferde No. 10". At the ricasso, the blade bears the "C.E." mark of the renowned Solingen maker Carl Eickhorn, identified by the double squirrel motif. The hilt assembly comprises a nickel-plated steel guard with a pierced basket depicting the Prussian eagle with outspread wings, paired with a contoured black ribbed grip for superior handling. Housed in its original steel scabbard with a single suspension ring and fixed drag, the ensemble reflects the prestige of the German cavalry officer during the early 20th century. The total length of the sword and scabbard measures approximately 100 cm. The item is in good condition.
