Description

A Extra Rare Shoulder Strap of the Court Sprinter of the Anichkov Palace in St Petersburg with a Aiguillette, Russian Empire, 19th century. Purple cloth shoulder strap, 13 cm long, very high-quality gilded bronze overlay in the form of the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire and the Great Imperial Crown. Very beautiful aiguillette made of cord with two gilded bronze ends. Court Sprinter: This was a special position at the Imperial Court, their duties were to carry out various kinds of assignments inside the palace; they were directly subordinate to the Hofmarschall, there were only four of them, and they were on duty in turns, both at the court of the Sovereign and the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna.
