Extra Rare French Hunting Sword with Gilded Belt, First Empire, Early 19th Century. An exceptional French hunting sword from the period of the First Empire (early 19th century), preserved in remarkable condition and complete with its original richly decorated belt. The sword features an ornate gilt bronze hilt adorned with Neoclassical motifs and hunting-themed medallions, including a striking relief of a stag and hunting dogs. The grip is crafted in ribbed horn, framed by a finely detailed crossguard with animal heads. The blued steel blade is lavishly gilt-decorated with floral and hunting trophies. The leather scabbard is mounted with beautifully engraved gilt brass fittings in Empire style. The accompanying baldric is embroidered with gold thread and fitted with a magnificent buckle and suspension mounts, all decorated with Empire symbolism, including lseashell patterns. A museum-quality piece that combines functional craftsmanship with the regal aesthetics of Napoleonic France.
