Exquisite Pair of spanish Percussion Chest Pistols, 19th Century. An exceptional matched pair of French percussion pistols from the 19th century, showcasing octagonal, rifled barrels screwed firmly to the frames. The barrels, locks, hammers, and pommels are adorned with elaborate relief engravings and profuse gold inlay, featuring neoclassical motifs, martial trophies, and figures of people and dogs. The sculptural quality of the lion-head hammers and deeply chiseled detailing reflect the finest craftsmanship of the era. Walnut stocks with fluted contours enhance the elegance and grip comfort. A remarkable example of 19th-century French gunmaking artistry, combining technical precision with lavish decoration typical of the finest Continental firearms of the period.
