Description
Civil War period M1850 foot officer's sword, Klingenthal belonged to Capt. S. Zuschlag. The steel blade with a wide fuller is decorated with high-quality engraving on each side. Polished wood grip and retaining a portion of the original sword knot. Brass mounted leather scabbard with a repaired clean break with no loss just below the middle mount. Sword is overall excellent untouched condition with dark untouched patina. A rare Civil War collectible with an interesting history. Provenance: Heritage Auctions, 25 June 2011, lot 52161.
