Description
Badge of the Grenadier Kiev Regiment of His Imperial Highness the Heir Tsesarevich. An exceptionally fine regimental badge of the Grenadier Kiev Regiment of His Imperial Highness the Heir Tsesarevich, established to commemorate the regiment’s bicentennial (1700–1900). The eight-pointed white enamel star bears the crowned cypher of Emperor Nicholas II and the inscription “In Commemoration, 30, 1700–1900”. At the center, within a gilt rococo cartouche, appears a detailed enameled image of the Archangel Michael, the regiment’s celestial patron, beneath an Imperial crown. Assay marks on the reverse. Good condition. Diameter: approx. 5 cm.
