A Unique, exhibition, steel knife from J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk Solingen, 10-20s of the 20th C.. Very large nickel-plated steel blade, decorated with excellent quality, gilded etching. Large frame decorated in the style of the first quarter of the 20th century, the mark of a company that has been in use since 1900. The inscription indicates the founding date of the enterprise "Fabrikmarke vom 13 juni 1731", the inscription "Stahlwaren Fabrik" "at the bottom. Wooden handle is black. Round, blued iron stand. The company Die Zwillinge, which gave rise to the most popular brand from the city of Solingen, was founded in the summer of 1731 by knifemaker Johann Peter Henckels. Master registered the trademark of the same name and began producing cutlery, knives and candelabra, which were popular at that time. The efforts of all members of the Henckels family were not in vain - the J. A. Henckels company received recognition from buyers and specialists, winning many prestigious prizes at various fairs and exhibitions held in different European countries. The name "Henckels" was registered as a trade name at the end of 1882 by the German Chamber of Commerce. The company became the official supplier of the most famous families in Europe. - the Austrian Imperial and Prussian Royal. Several luxurious exhibition halls were opened - in Berlin, New York, and the supply of knives to the United States of America, Canada, and China began. By the second decade of the twentieth century, the number of workers employed in Zwilling factories had grown to two thousand people. Even during the economic downturn of the thirties, the number of employees was never less than six hundred. Nowadays, almost two and a half thousand company employees produce high-quality goods in factories operating in China, Japan and the USA. Knives, tableware, and manicure accessories from Zwilling J. A. Henckels can be bought today in the most prestigious European shopping centers. A wonderful collector's item telling the history of the famous Solingen factory. Length 178 cm.
