Description
A Swiss Model 1918 Bayonet by Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, Serial Number 129417. This exceptional Swiss Model 1918 bayonet exemplifies the rigorous manufacturing standards of early 20th-century military ordnance, specifically produced for the Schmidt-Rubin series of carbines. The piece features a straight, double-edged steel blade with a bright finish and a prominent central ridge, characteristic of the precision craftsmanship associated with Swiss arsenal production. The hilt is constructed with smooth-carved wooden grip scales fastened by two steel rivets, an integrated crossguard with a muzzle ring, and a polished steel pommel housing a functional locking catch. Significantly, the ricasso is struck with the "WAFFENFABRIK NEUHAUSEN" maker's mark, and the crossguard is stamped with the unique serial number "129417". Accompanied by its original blued steel scabbard with a leather suspension tab, the ensemble measures approximately 46 cm in overall length and represents a fine specimen of European martial history. The item is in good condition.
