Description
A Spanish Model 1913 Mauser Bayonet for the Model 1916 Carbine, Fabrica Nacional de Toledo. This Spanish Model 1913 bayonet is a example of early 20th-century military ordnance, specifically designed for use with the Model 1916 Mauser carbine. Demonstrating significant versatility, this model was also compatible with the Model 1893 Mauser rifles and carbines, and could later be affixed to the Model 1943 rifles through the use of a specialized adapter. The weapon features a long, single-edged steel blade characterized by deep longitudinal fullers on both faces. The hilt assembly is comprised of a straight steel crossguard with an integrated barrel ring and a pommel featuring a T-shaped attachment groove and an internal coil spring-actuated latch. The grip is formed by two ribbed wooden cheekpieces, which are securely fastened to the tang by a pair of steel screws. In the ricasso is struck with the "ARTILLERIA" manufacturer's mark, while the crossguard displays the stamped serial number 57710. Measuring approximately 52 cm in total length.
