Description

A Rare Russian Imperial Hunting Set, short sword, knife and fork by Tula, Dated 1862. This exceptional Russian Imperial hunting set, produced in the historic metalworking center of Tula, serves as a premier example of mid-19th-century decorative weaponry and comprises a hunting sword, a utility knife, and a matching fork. The ensemble is distinguished by its intricate silver inlay, executed against a deep blued steel surface with scrolling foliate and floral patterns that exemplify the high artistic standards of the period. The faceted steel hilt of the main hunting sword is prominently inscribed in Cyrillic "Tula 1862," documenting its manufacture at the Imperial Tula Arms Factory during the reign of Alexander II. The single-edged steel blade features a refined profile, while the accompanying knife and fork have engraved handles. All implements are designed to be housed within a custom leather-covered scabbard featuring steel mounts embellished with corresponding silver ornamentation. This set reflects the specialized craftsmanship and steel incrustation techniques for which Tula masters were internationally celebrated, representing the prestige of Russian aristocratic hunting culture. The hunting sword measures approximately 60 centimeters in total length. The item is in good condition.
