Description
A rare hunting dagger by Egor Samsonov, Tula, Russian Empire, circa 1900. A broad double-edged blade of flattened-diamond section. Inscription on the blade in Cyrillic "Tula, Egor Samsonov" and stamps confirming the high quality of the dagger. The handle is made of black wood and decorated with checkering. The guard and pommel of the handle are made of metal, a ring for attaching a lanyard is attached to the pommel. The wooden scabbard is covered with black leather. The metal fittings of the scabbard, guard and pommel of the handle are blued. A fine cult example of a Russian dagger from the late 19th - early 20th century. Excellent condition. Length 26 cm.
