Description
A Rare German Third Reich RLB Officer's Dagger, Model 1938 by SMF Solingen. This rare senior officer's parade dagger for the Reichsluftschutzbund (RLB) or State Air Protection Service represents a distinctive example of late 1930s German edged weaponry, characterized by its elegant and imposing design. The hilt features a stylized eagle crossguard with outstretched wings clutching a swastika, a black leather-covered wooden grip inset with the second-pattern RLB emblem—a sunburst surrounding a swastika—and a heavy oval pommel. The double-edged steel blade displays the quintessential mid-period acid-etched maker's mark of SMF Solingen (Solinger Metallwaffenfabrik Stocker & Co.), depicting a seated king with a raised sword, and is housed in its original black leather-wrapped scabbard with nickel-plated fittings and dual suspension rings. Expertly crafted with precision engineering, the dagger measures approximately 39 cm in total length when scabbard. The item is in good condition.
