Description

A Rare German Silver-Inlaid Powerful Sword by Hermmen Keeser, Dated 1612. This magnificent German seventeenth-century sword, dated 1612, has a steel blade with two fullers on each side. In the fullers is an engraved inscription "HERMMEN KEESER ANNO 1612." Herman Keisserr was a German sword maker who lived and worked in the 16th and 17th century, renowned for his high quality swords. The description is in good condition and remains clearly visible. The iron hilt is elegantly appointed with silver-inlaid foliate and geometric motifs, including star-like patterns on the spatulate terminals of the straight quillons and a matching central langet, the remains of gold inlay on the surface of the hilt. The large, spherical pommel continues this ornate decorative scheme with radial silver inlay and scrolling wirework, while the wooden grip, though showing signs of its age, retains its structural integrity. The hilt is Minor damage (see photo). A wonderful piece for collectors of Late Renaissance bladed weapons. Length cm.
