Description

A Rare early 20 Century Swedish Heraldic Folding Pocket Knife with Gilt Decoration. This exceptionally rare early 20 Century multi-blade folding pocket knife is a masterwork of decorative steel, likely originating from the premier workshops of Eskilstuna, Sweden. The handle scales are elaborately ornamented using a sophisticated combination of deep acid etching, bluing, and fire-gilding to create a high-contrast, regal aesthetic. One side prominently features the Greater Coat of Arms of Sweden, displaying a quartered shield with the iconic "Tre Kronor" (Three Crowns) and the Folkung lion, flanked by two royal lions rampant and surmounted by a sovereign crown. The reverse side is adorned with an intricate arrangement of scrolling acanthus leaves and floral motifs, all set against a rich, textured gilt ground. The knife is designed with a four-blade configuration. The handle measures approximately 6 cm in length, reaching an overall extended length of roughly 11.5 cm with the primary blades deployed. The item is in good condition.
