Description

A Rare Cavalry Officer's Saber, Model 1827, Shaf and Sons, St. Petersburg, Russian Empire. Steel curved blade, with one wide fuller on each side. On both sides the blade Is dechedd with a high-quality ornament depicting the Coat of Arms of the Russian Empire. At the base of the blade one side Is the brand "Shaf and Sons" and on the other the Inscription Solingen. On the butt Is the Inscription "J.E. Bleckmann Solingen". The hilt Is made of copper allsy with three protective bows. The seller's mark on the hilt Is "Shaf and Sons St. Petersburg". The wooden handle is covered with fish skin and wraphed with twisted brass wire. Copper allloy scabbard with Two rings for hanging. A beautiful collectible saber with a blade made in Solingen by order of the famous manaufacturer and seller of edged weapons in the Russian Empire, Shaf and Sons. A good condition. Length 97 cm.
