A Rare 19th Century Algerian Flint Lock Musket (Moukhala) with Inlaid Stock. This exceptional long-barreled miquelet-lock musket, traditionally known as a Moukhala, represents the refined military craftsmanship of 19th-century Algeria, particularly associated with the Kabyle regions. The slender hardwood stock is masterfully decorated with a dense arrangement of bone inlays and vibrant red coral inlays, set within intricate geometric and floral patterns that exemplify North African aesthetic traditions. The iron Flint Lock of the French type. The long, tapered iron barrel is secured to the stock by multiple chased brass bands, featuring delicate foliate and geometric motifs. Such pieces were not only functional weapons but served as significant status symbols within North African society.
