Description
A pair of original forged gloves from a 16th century suit of armor. Western Europe. A delightful pair of steel armor glove gauntlets with steel rivets, leather liners. The gauntlets cover part of the forearm with a flared cylindrical shape, and the wrist area is composed of three articulated plates with rivets holding them together. The thumb plate is attached by a small hinge to the wrist and the smaller finger plates extend from the back of the hand. Leather liners are riveted to each of the finger plates. Three fingers are missing from one of the gloves, see photo. A wonderful artifact of medieval Europe for collecting. Glove length 36 cm.
