A original sword, Pappenheimer Style Rapier, North European, 1620 - 1640s. Steel straight, tapering blade, decorated with engraved decor in the form of a wave on each side. Characteristic hilt with iron looping bars and a iron pommel. Two convex plates that protect the hand are decorated with geometric patterns and holes. Wooden handle with remains of leather. A good collector's item with signs of time. The Pappenheimer-type rapier received its name in honor of the German Count Gottfried Heinrich von Pappenheim, commander-in-chief of the Catholic League troops in the Thirty Years' War.
