Description
A Large, Philippines Moro Sword Punal (Gunong), circa 1900. A sturdy double edged flamboyant hand forged steel blade with waves. Gold-plated copper hilt with an elaborate crossguard, engraved with palmettes and floral motifs. In its original copper, gold-plated scabbard with wood insert, engraved and hammered surface with palmette cartouches and floral sprays. A rare Punal example in good condition, a fine Philippine collectible sword. Overall length in its scabbard: 109 cm.
