This rare and ingenious Belgian combined hunting sword and pinfire revolver, manufactured Circa 1870, represents a sophisticated example of nineteenth-century multifunctional weaponry produced under the patent of Henri Goossens of Liège. Trading under the name H. Goossens & Fils, the firm was renowned for such specialized combination arms, and this specimen features an integrated 9mm caliber revolver mechanism with a six-chambered cylinder struck with Liège proof marks. The top strap of the frame is clearly inscribed "H.G. & F. BREVETES" and bears the serial number 397, while the assembly includes a side-mounted ejector rod and a hinged loading gate with a cam designed to raise the offset hammer during operation. The weapon is fitted with a robust straight steel blade with two fullers on each side, transitioning into a hilt with a checkered black grip contoured with finger grooves for a secure, ergonomic hold.
