Description

A Dagger "KAMA" Russian Empire, Caucasian, Horn Hilt, 19th/20th Century. The formidable double-edged steel blade is characterized by its sharp tapering profile and features a deep, offset central fuller on each face to provide structural rigidity while maintaining a lightweight balance. The hilt from dark organic horn, likely bovine or buffalo, and is securely fastened to the tang by rivets. The weapon is housed in its original wooden scabbard, which is tightly covered in dark, hand-stitched leather and fitted with a metallic locket band and a small finial at the terminal tip. Such daggers were widely carried as both functional weapons and symbols of status by the various peoples of the Caucasus and were famously adopted by Russian Cossack regiments. The total length of the piece measures approximately 62 cm. The item is in good condition.
